Kyla Blocker
General Manager
Originally from Massashusetts, Kyla has recently returned to the Boston area to pursue a Master’s degree in Arts Administration at Boston University where she is currently enrolled. In addition to her role with Juventas, Kyla serves as a member of the Front of House team at Central Square Theater.
Prior to entering the Arts Administration field, Kyla worked in various aspects of theatre and theatre education for the better part of a decade. She is a seasoned educator and director and has also worked as an actor. Most recently, she was the theatre teacher at Pittsfield High School where she also served as the Artistic Director of PHS Proteus Theatre and the PHS Chorus. At PHS she developed original and rigorous curricula for seven individual courses and produced four theatrical productions and three concerts each year. Through her efforts, she increased the reach and visibility of the theatre and choral programs within the school and in the broader community. As an educator, Kyla focused on making the arts accessible to all, fostering collaboration, and building community; she brings these same values to her current endeavors.
Kyla attended New York University for both her undergraduate and graduate degrees. She holds a B.F.A in Acting with a double major in Psychology from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts and a Master’s degree in Educational Theatre from the Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human Development where she earned the award for Outstanding Leadership in Educational Theatre.
